Nothing Else Matters ~ How The Glory Of God Gives Meaning To All Of Life ~ How the Glory of God Changes Us

Glory of God

What makes us dissatisfied with our sin?

Only when we see the Glory of God as more desirable than our most cherished sin.

How the Glory of God Changes Us

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.

For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Pastor Bob Gunter

Pastor to People

This week, I will be trying to fulfill two responsibilities: one is to attend the Pastors’ Conference at Moody Bible Institute (at which I will be speaking on Tuesday evening), and the other is to attend some sessions of “The Gospel Coalition,” formed several years ago to retrieve the centrality of the Gospel in our churches and culture. The goal in all of these activities is to better equip the next generation for what they will be facing in our increasingly disintegrating society.

Thanks to the many of you who have increased your giving recently! As you can see, our needs are great, but we are also confident that God will enable us to meet them as we sacrifice together for His glory – after all, nothing else matters!

Have a great week

12Since we have such a hope,(T) we are very bold, 13not like Moses,(U) who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. 14But(V) their minds were(W) hardened. We have advantages Moses did not have:

1. We have a greater opportunity

2. We have a greater boldness

3. We have a greater clarity

4. We have a greater transformation

 Testing of Your Faith

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive  the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him”.
